...although lots of other places claim that too. Meriden, just West of Coventry, also lays claim to it, by virtue of it being the point furthest from the sea. The 'middle' of England, in terms up halfway up and halfway across is Morton in Derbyshire.
The actual centroid (remember your maths lessons?!) of England is in Leicestershire; Lindley Hall which is near the vehicle test centre.
The centre of the UK? Now that's a different question all together!
