Midland Oak, Leamington Spa

The Midland Oak, Leamington Spa...

...which claims to be the 'Centre of England'...

...although lots of other places claim that too. Meriden, just West of Coventry, also lays claim to it, by virtue of it being the point furthest from the sea. The 'middle' of England, in terms up halfway up and halfway across is Morton in Derbyshire.

The actual centroid (remember your maths lessons?!) of England is in Leicestershire; Lindley Hall which is near the vehicle test centre.

The centre of the UK? Now that's a different question all together!

Day 7: Rest Day

So, at exactly this time last week I was running down Myton road with a fire on the end of a stick being cheered on by thousands of people...

...instead, I'm now sat eating strawberries and watching the Wimbledon with Murray being cheered on by millions (and a few Federer fans!).

Sunday very much is a day of rest, the torch has taken a day off it's mini-tour too.

The Olympic Torch in Warwickshire

Well, yesterday was lots of fun, I ran down Myton Road in Warwick with some fire...

...had my own hand-picked body guards...

...and then had a pint afterwards in the Moorings, raising money for Cancer Research UK.

Thanks to Naomi for collecting those pennies, and to all who come along and supported on the day!
